TEEPA SNOW is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She is Director of Education for the Eastern North Carolina Alzheimer's Association, and is adjunct faculty consultant to the Schools of Nursing at Duke University and the University of North Carolina. She has received local, statewide, and national recognition for her expertise in geriatrics and dementia. Teepa's teaching style is characterized as “dynamic and fun!". Even those participants who bring extensive experience with dementia comment that her training is “a rewarding experience”, and "immediately useful".  Her theoretical sensibilities, tested techniques, as well as her understanding of human dynamics make her an excellent clinician and teacher for those whose lives are touched by of those endearing yet often challenging people with dementia. Teepa has developed two training videos, published many articles, and presents nationally on a variety of topics related to dementia and geriatrics. Ms. Snow has received awards for her clinical and teaching skills from a wide variety of organizations, including AOTA, NCOTA, and the Alzheimer’s Association. During the past year, Teepa has delivered over 200 training events in the past year alone. Teepa has been a Keynote Speaker at the past two Educational Conferences of the Alzheimer's Association of Western and Central Washington in Seattle. CareForce launched its AFFORDABLE COMMUNITY EDUCATION SERIES by bringing Ms. Snow to Lynnwood where she trained over 250 people in 4 hour workshops over two days. We received many requests to bring her back so that friends and colleagues of attendees could participate, and so that she would be able to teach advanced skills to those who completed her first session.

Ms. Snow's training is highly valuable to:

ANOTHER QUALITY LEARNING OPPORTUNITY IN THE CAREFORCE AFFORDABLE COMMUNITY EDUCATION SERIES

In October 2006 CareForce was a proud sponsor of special training events with Nationally Acclaimed Dementia Expert and Trainer, Teepa Snow. The sessions were sold out.  The evaluations of these workshops by family and professional caregivers were enthusiastically positive, with many participants saying it was the best training event they had ever attended. Attendees left with a greater understanding of dementia and many new and useful ways to improve the caregiving they provide. Most asked that we continue to offer similar classes in the future! We are now planning follow-up training for the FALL of 2007.

Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA left was introduced by CareForce owner and Director of Clinical Services "Sam" Miller, MN, RN, ARNP at the Caregiver trainings held October 18, 2006.
